Thank you for joining the Dear Farmer Thank You Letter Project, a no-cost classroom activity from Show-Me Nutrient Stewardship. Your students write short thank you letters to Missouri farmers, and we deliver them.

Show-Me Nutrient Stewardship is the research, education, and outreach program of the Missouri Fertilizer Control Board. We help Missourians learn how farmers provide nutrients to their crops while conserving soil and water.

The project takes about 45 minutes of class time: a short lesson, then letter writing. We've also included optional student activity sheets to accompany the lesson. Students learn where their food comes from, practice friendly letter writing, and make a real connection with someone who grows food in our state.

For participation, your students will receive a video from a farmer, reading a Dear Farmer Thank You Letter and a virtual tour of their farm.
