Show-Me Nutrient Stewardship is a program of the Missouri Fertilizer Control Board.
The Show-Me Nutrient Stewardship program invests in nutrient research, seeks cost-share opportunities for farmers, and provides educational resources.
Show-Me Nutrient Stewardship
"MoFCB began the Show-Me Nutrient Stewardship program to highlight the great work Missouri’s farmers and retailers are doing to be good nutrient stewards.
This is often through utilizing fertilizer based on the 4Rs of nutrient management - from the Right Source at the Right Rate, at the Right Time, and in the Right Place. By doing these things, farmers and their retailers/advisers can be more effective with their use of fertilizer while maximizing their inputs.
Missouri farmers and their retailers/advisers seek to provide food, fuel, and fiber products for the world while leaving their land and water resources better than they found them. This is done by using science-based recommendations to abundantly grow crops while utilizing inputs effectively and efficiently. This helps keep nutrients in place to be utilized by growing crops while maximizing fertilizer investments."

The Missouri Fertilizer Control Board
The Missouri Fertilizer Control Board (MoFCB) is a nonprofit corporation organized under Missouri law and created by § 266.336, RSMo 2016, in the Missouri Fertilizer Law, §§ 266.291 to 266.353. The members of the MoFCB include five farmers, five fertilizer manufacturers or distributors, and three at-large members. The primary purpose of the MoFCB is to administer and enforce Missouri Fertilizer Law. As provided for by state law, the MoFCB issues permits authorizing the sale of fertilizer.
The MoFCB regulates fertilizer sales by providing for a system of registry, field inspections, laboratory analysis, and enforcement procedures necessary to assure the quality of fertilizers offered for sale in the state. As part of its non-regulatory duties, the MoFCB pursues nutrient research, educational, and outreach programs to ensure the adoption and implementation of practices that optimize nutrient use efficiency, ensure soil fertility, and address environmental concerns.
The Missouri Fertilizer Control Board

Exercises general supervision of the administration and enforcement of the Missouri Fertilizer Law and is governed by a 13-member board of directors.

Determines the method and amount of fertilizer fees to be assessed.

Adopts, amends, promulgates, or repeals rules and regulations to administer, implement, and enforce the Missouri Fertilizer Law.

Provides systems of registry, fields inspections, laboratory analysis, penalty and enforcement procedures, and publications of results necessary to assure the quality of fertilizers offered for sale in Missouri.

Pursues nutrient research, educational, and outreach programs.
